I don't send them rivets to just anybody, ya know.
Them's are special AX rivets & only fast guys (or those with promise) get em'. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

Gosh I hope not because most of it was shit I didn't want to hear. Guess I will play with the tire un-mounted tomorow and see what is what. Maybe take some Duct tape and squeeze the sidewall and bead to 8 1/2" WHICH IS WHAT SIZE RIM I AM GOING TO RUN. Not 7 not 3 not 8 not 6 EIGHT AND A HALF INCHES. Worse case I'll call John and work something out. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) |

Actually like I said last night maybe if I pinch them down to what the rim will be.
Looks like it made them much skinnier. Tried my best to simulate where the tire sits at ride hieght in relation to the fender. got about an inch total on outside maybe a 1/2 inch to the strut. So if the back spacing is good I should have nothing to worry about. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Rims were measured at 4.75" back space. plus I got a 1/4" spacer to screw around with. Attached image(s) |

Hey Joe, that duct tape is hundred mile an hour tape to boat racers, but that just for holding busted pieces of deck on or cowling so it doesn't fly off. I don't thiink it's meant for holding tires on hubs wheels are made for that. Sorry about stating the obviuous. I take it something that worked in your head didn't work on the car. I hate that when it happens cause what's on the car is almost always right no matter how much you massage it with your mind.
I got confidence in ya. You'll get it worked out. Dave |
