Sandy and I have been talking about buying a piece of property, small house, or a small commercial building off the beaten path along route 66 or something. Were sick of snow and cold weather and long winters.

On my return trip from WCC "05" I found a couple of cool little out of the way places in NM. There were several small houses and commercial buildings sittng empty, and for sale. I did a search and found some of the property listings. Prices were very low.

But, I'm looking for some input on this. We don't really care where we winter, as long as it's not too cold. We'll never be able to afford Cali. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) or the big cities in AZ, LV, NM, So were looking for a rural depressed area.

I thought if I had a commercial building I'd start a hobby shop again. We only need to be 8-12 hours or so from the action. (ocean, sking, racing, ect.)

Anyone know anything about property values in Mexico? Can you safely purchase property, or does the government own it all? What about taxes?

Tell me about where you all live. Who's in eden?

BTW: Winter sux, But here's a cool photo anyway. Picture of our lake place. This is our bunk houe. I built it.
