An ugly pickup always looks better with a ugly chick riding in the back. Truck must have hit a bump in the road.

QUOTE did ginter make it back safe and sound? He did... just got an e-mail from him. Record time at that (back that is). I think if we told him it makes the chassis stiffer he just might go for it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) |

I haven't seen this before. Seems it was made by the same coach builder as the other one. I'm not a big fan of this sort of thing, but this one is kind of cool, the gt pickup.

I think I was wrong, they say 2 were made, but I think that one was made by Gunnar Racing as a nurburgring-like safety car/truck.

Huh, it is that car? - I've seen pics of that car, but I guess they were from sort of above and cropped and black and white. I didn't realize that was a pickup conversion. Although now I'm torn about if they should change it back - thought it was like a 4 converted as a tribute/replica. Cool to see big color modern pics of it, though regardless. I use to buy all my parts from Bill Troutman back in the day. His dad had his shop next door to him and was an awesome metal fabricator. He would take me over there a couple of times and I drooled over his projects he was working on.
Afa the trucks go, I know he made one for him and one for Aase bros. |

The Gunnar racing truck was a troutman pickup, there were two, one six and one four.
Gunnar restored the six to what you see on this page, as a "what if" safety truck. It did not originally have the flairs ect. The 4 was in Colorado in a private collection for many years. I tried for 8 years to buy it from the owner without success. It's now in the Rhode Scholars collection in NC. It was changed from brown to red many years ago, this is how the 4 looks now. http://flatsixes.com/cars/porsche-914/pick-up-truck/ Ferg |
