I have seen stuff on the news about it, they featured it in the movie "Hitch" and it looked like fun. Since I am now single again and living alone, I was thinking about trying it out. I was hoping maybe some of you here have done it and would share your insight a little with me. If you dont want to post it here, send me a pm and let me know what you thought of it.

Yeah, I tried it when it first came out....
Be yourself Be honest Try to look nice Have fun!! I always just asked just 2 or 3 questions and winged it from there. For me it was a Red Flag if the woman had a checklist so I always teased them alot. Too much is said just by how and what is said in the first minute. Men look at women differently than women look at men, haha. It can be a blast and a good way to meet people to have fun with and maybe make some friends. If you are there just to get laid, good luck! |

Is that where you meet, spend most of your money on her and she leaves as fast as possible? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Thanks for the input Geoff, and of course I knew the peanut gallery would have a few things to say too so it was expected. Anyone else try it?
I plan on looking sharp for this event but not overboard to give them a wrong impression. I figured a nice pair of jeans or casual slacks and a button down shirt but no tie, or should I wear a tie? I dont want to portray something I am not normally. I am really a jeans and polo shirt kind of guy. Weekends are pretty much the same except I wear just a T-shirt and jeans with tennies. I am not in it to get laid, I can do that without spending time in a club. |

How you are normally? Wear that dark blue jumpsuit, welder's helmet on and carry a toolbox in one hand.
Then you say "Baby, I'm here to fix all your problems..." |

My only suggestion is to not take it too seriously and just see it as an opportunity maybe meet someone you wouldn't normally meet. Regarding clothes - I think you should step it up as if you were taking a date to a fancy restaurant or going out to a swanky cocktail party. Would you wear jeans on those occasions - probably not. |

Wear your normal nice casual clothes! or it depends on the crowd there...I didn't go to the speed dating places where too many were dressed up. The guys in suits stood out and a few women were way overdressed. No flip flops or tevas....course I am in Seattle so you'll figure it out. Go there feeling comfortable and confident about yourself. You aren't selling yourself but meeting people who happen to be women. If one seems interesting speak up and effin ask for a phone number or email addy so you can "get in touch". If or you are turned down (kicked to the curb) so what and ask the next interesting one. Its just a quick why to ask a few basic questions and see if the other person is atleast someone you can talk to easily. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) : |

Good luck. I think I would joke myself and I would have nothing to say. I am ok meeting and talking to people but if I am put on the spot to "DANCE". "Nice weather" comes out of me. Please let us know how it goes. |

I have seriously considered it. I am a sort of tech geek, endurance sports geek and wanna be autox geek. Needless to say I don't run into many women. Add to that I am very picky. So sadly I don't find women I like and am attracted to. It's very hard.
But yeah I was gonna try it this wednesday. Let ya know how it goes. |
