1st off, why not use a 914 designed bar that you know for sure fits??

what size are the 911SC rear bars?

You do not want a bigger rear bar on the front than the rear on a 914.

Mount it in the rear trunk like the GT? cars and then blow your supposed savings on fabricating the drop links and mounts.

Then go buy a 22 mm front bar to offset the 18 mm back bar and...................

the car is setup right now with no bars. 911 front suspension and 140# rear springs.

i have the stock front sway bar sitting on the fur covered burning man surf board mobile. =-)

my thoughts are to drive it a bit with nothing.
then install the front bar. then drive it a bit.
then install something on the rear. then drive it a bit.

then make final decisions on "adjustment" on either the front or rear to get her balanced.

truth be told the most sporty/handling car i've ever owned was a '63 karma ghia convertible w/a 1600cc single carb into a 4-1 stinger exhaust. LOL

this 914 already walks around everything i've ever owned in the handling department.

If it's all about price then I don't understand the logic of actually buying something that will ruin your handling... no matter what the price.

Hell... even if it's $5.00, that would buy another roll of duct tape and some plastic ties to hold the radiator in (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/av-943.gif)

(just tease'n ya pookie)

sorry eric,

=-) just trying to be one of those "out of the box" thinkers.

these 911 rear sway bars are pretty hefty for a 914 i think.

probably too much for my car but i think i'm going to get the front/rear set anyways as they are local and only $50.

after researching online, one 911 rear bar alone, new, is over $300.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

anyone wanna set of 911 bars???? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
