I've used Deman motorsports in Nyack, NY. About 45 mins from the city. They are pretty pricey though and apparantly all their really good techs started their own shop. I would find them and check it out. It's hard finding ppl who know 914s.

Wayne at Rennsport is one of those scary guys that's got a whole lot of information stored up in his head. A real VW guy...I'd have no reservations sending anyone there.
