Well more research for the v8 conversion and I have not seen anything stated that say's it MUST be a side shift.

What's the deal?

Mines a tailshifter - I wanted to switch to a sideshifter but it doesn't look like an easy thing to do - getting the linkage past the engine mount bar.

it sure can. all depends on your linkage setup ... look at all the 915 conversions, they're all tailshifters, so why not a 901 ...

if done right, it'll work just fine,
