Hello all,

Interesting Note:

Lotus Europa: Type 47
VW/Porsche 4 cyl: Type 47

I first became interested in the mid engined configuration back in the early sixties when the GT40 roared on the scene. Settled on the 914 as being the most fun to drive, easiest to self maintain, availability of discarded examples to pull parts from, excellent platform from which to explore upgrades/changes, etc, etc, etc.

For fun I re-wrote and posted that earlier Europa vs 914 thread on my site, and most of the Lotus guys had a good laugh. A good many have also owned 914s, one guy owned one of the original GTs. Another posted this to the Europa mailing list. We're encouraging him to tell the tale and if he does, I'll post it here.
