This started in another thread.
Changing the left rear wheel bearing since last year a cotter sheared and it loosened up for a while. Trying to be safe. 2 hour job, but of course it turned out hub needed a sledge, which meant taking off the arm, and disconnecting brake line, so there's 2 more jobs to do later. Anyhoo, then bearing goes in real nice, but now I have a bit of play like it's one of the bad batch people talk about. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) And a pox on the household of the idiot who decided to run all the brake lines on the early years through NON-SLOTTED tabs! Bearings need to be held in by the CV joint nut... pulls em in tight, and gives em no slop.

I have air power to get the castle nut off and on. It has play even with the
nut tight. |

should be 240 ft lbs.....
or around there iirc... my SKF's pulled in with no play after that. |
