Off Topic, but funny nevertheless

Yesterdays events:

Dropped my wife off at the airport, heard a hissing from my rear passenger tire, saw the head of a large nail. Off to Discount tire for a repair (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) . At Discount they found two four inch nails, fixed and down the road.

Stopped by the powdercoater to pick up the roll bar, they powdered it the wrong color. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Went to work - came home from work.

Getting ready to go to a friends for some dinner and see this unbelievable storm sweeping the desert coming at my house. Waited out front until the rain started to enter into the garage, shut the garage and went inside to ride out the storm. Once inside, I saw the BBQ cover fly across the backyard (thought it was a gonner), shortly after the cover was airborne, there goes one of my chairs flying into the pool, then another! By this time, it was blowing like hell and literally raining sideways. You are not going to believe what is next...

The BBQ (not a little webber kettle bbq), the biggest gas bbq that Lowes had. Yes, it was flying through the air and landed in the pool. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

Have you seen what two years of built up bbq crap will do to a perfectly clear pool? I have!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

It was getting dark and this is the best pics I could pull off. As if this is not enough, a larger sized cardboard box must have gotten collected in the desert by the storm, got airborne and hit my satalite, knocking it off of my house!

Three hours later, the bbq is out of the pool, and the satalite is re-mounted back on the house with BETTER reception than originally installed!

I hate days like that!

Thank god for come-alongs...

Tied a rope around the palm tree as an anchor. Tied another rope around the bbq. Used the comealong to help get that heavy motha - f'er up the stairs and out of the pool.

It is pretty hilarious!

I live up against the desert over bye Lake Mead. There are no wind barriers in the desert. Just a bunch of tumbleweed, some scrub brush and lots and lots of rocks. You really got to like to color of brown and all of the various shade thereof to live in the desert!

I drank a ton of my homemade Pineapple infused Vodka. Made me forget the 5 pounds of residual burnt bbq sauce laying on the bottom of the pool. mmmmm Pineapple infused vodka.....

Stuff is so great, you don't need a mixer.

Take 5 1.75 liter bottles of Kettle One
Slice 7 ripe pineapples into thin slices
Put all of the vodka and sliced pineapple in a large decanter
about 5-7 weeks later - enjoy

The g/f and I have a time-share in Lost Wages (~1-2 miles south of the strip)...when we go out there again I'll give you a call and we'll help you thin out your pineapple field (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

Don't do it!!!!

The next thing you know, you are sitting on the back porch looking at your bbq trying to swim.

Seriously, this stuff should be illegal. Mix up a batch and let me know what you think.

I was thinking the same as Trojanmann

Moved from Denver with a huge yard to Vegas with a bigger house and a smaller lot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

But ya gotta make due with what ya got. I only have about 15 feet behind my house to the back wall, squeezed a 12 foot wide by 39 foot long pool with attached spa back there. Thankfully we have a decent side RV slab ~ 20X50'. Looking forward to making my $$$ here and moving somewhere where grass grows (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jsharp.gif) is always better with grass. You know you might have a problem when you define drink mixing quantities by the bottle, not the ounce (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

JK - sounds damn good. I just thought to myself reading it "did he say 5 bottles as the base mixing quantity" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Sucks about the crazy storm - I have been caught in one of those in the high desert before and it is nuts. We had a canopy up and it went from stable but a little windy to pulling the bungees out of the sandbags and flying up an over the enclosed trailer and insane rain in about 1 minute! Crazy.

Whats the moral of the story? Anchor bolt everything in a concrete pad. Ohyes, and chain all lids down. That is what ya call REAL weather COOOL! I guess alot of caras were sandblaster that day.

Gotta love this time of year. It is the only time our weather does anything exciting. Wind and thunderstorms every night for the next week here in AZ. They are usually in and out in about 2 hours.
