I'm not sure how to answer this. Still thinking on it.
The place has certainly "grown" beyond my wildest dreams. I have a lot of good new friends (and some new enemies) from this site. I think it is great when we see people come and go from the site... then come back again. I'm enjoying attending the events and wish I had more time to do it. OK. It's the people. B |

TEN REASONS;
1. Because John Rodgers, Trekkor, Eric Madsen, Eric Shea and Chirs Foley all contributed on a regular basis when I first signed on here with invaluable racing information 2. Cap'n Krusty Is the bomb when it comes to working on the car and general knowledge. 3. The hot chicks thread. 4. Howard's hose 5. The misadventures of Aaron Cox who is never at a loss for words and obviously doesn't leave his keyboard for any length of time. 6. The misadventures of Brad Roberts ( a soap opera in many parts bound to run at least as long as Days of Our Lives.) 7. The irreverance of this whole illeterate bunch. 8. Great parts for sale in the classifieds. 9. Jake Raby's knowledge, understanding and ego. 10. Becasue there is nothing worth watching on TV and I'm tired of working on the 914 right now. When I lived in Mammoth we dreamt up and scripted a show we called "As the Bullwheel Turns" it was the story of the McCoy family and the mountain made into a soap opera. I think this would make a great mini-series; "Jackstands; A Real Life Story" or may be "914, the little car that could, sometimes". I see it now. Howard- The wayward add exec always searching for the perfect 914 and the woman to go with it but never satisfied untill he sells all his ferrari parts. Mrs. K- The hot next door neighbor who dances in her living room window. Toastie- There just because Aaron- The young geeky college student always after an older woman (or any woman) who has a running 914 The Bad Boys- Jake and Brad- the bad boy mechanics. Sort of bad Arthur Fonzarelli types. In and out of jail, relationships and fistfights. Shelby- the hot female mechanic always painting something and teasing the rest of the group mercilessly. Everybody drools over her including the women. Cap'n Krusty- the kindly older fatherly type secretly plotting to take it all away from them. (Think the captain from Gilligan's Island but more intelligent and not as bumbling). Sam- the nefarious bad guy aka modern day Snidley Whiplash. Large supporting cast of car nuts and racers. and at the opening of each show-Dancing Bananas. OOHH- This is too good. Gotta go pitch this to somebody. I could make millions off of all of you BA HA HA. Later, Randy |

Randy, good stuff! Here's the theme song.
There's only two things in life that make it worth livin' 914's and fine feelin’ wimmen. I don't need my name in the marquis lights, I got my NARP and I got you with me tonight. Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love Let's go to Brokenback, Utah, Slitsy and AAron and their rides. The 914's they're building, finally hit the road and try those power slides. We’re missing Brad Roberts pain cries, and Sir Ahndie's brain fries, and Miles still looking for a sheep, They ain’t in Brokenback, Utah, so, la, la, la, la, la, la... fuchem. So baby let's cash the 401, Buy pink shirts and have some fun, and hit the road. This piece of shit is killing me, can we get a GT3, and drink Merlot. I’ve been so busy, fixing up this damn car, Ten grand in and it still won’t go far, Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love Let's go to Brokenback, Utah, Stoli, Cazadores and the girls. This drinking life we're livin' got us feelin' like we're ‘bout to get the hurls. Between Scotty Kline's sad tunes, and Mikey Z's ass moons, and someone waiting for a tow, in Brokenback, Utah ain't nobody doin’ no blow. And then there’s Mrs. K's butt shots, and Toasty's fine red hots, and Joe Sharp sawing up the wheels, in Brokenback, Utah ain't nobody getting free feels. |

Do I or don't I...........? Group: Members Posts: 5,899 Joined: 24-March 06 From: SE PA, near Philly Member No.: 5,765 Region Association: North East States |
Several of my neighbors close thier windows or make "smelly" comments when I start of either my '72 914 or '73 911T. Most over the comments sound like "smerry" since they can't speak English. My next door neightbor said "cool cars" until I fired up the 911 - he too told me that it "has a lot of unburned hydrocarbons", to which I responded - "you should come aroung the morning after I've been drinking beer. I won't even need to fire up one the cars" Ahh, the smell of methane in the morning. Reminds me of......what I had last night!
Seriously, you people are the ONLY people who undertand the affliction we have. Most people think we're eccentric. Uhh, actually, we are. But at least we do it together. And, no matter the abuse (which we usually bring on ourselves), we all "just get along". Maybe we should buy a large island..... Nahh, I like pissing off the niehbors too much! |
