I just bought a 1976 914 2.0 and noticed on a repair order that the car had a top end rebuild about 20K miles ago and had a big bore kit installed. What would a big bore kit for this car be?

That probably means that it has 96mm instead of stock 94mm P/c's.

Better yet, who is the manufacturer of the pistons and cylinders??? Please don't say Mark Stephens......

Joe, he started the thread on "should I go to carbs instead of FI?" So, my guess is that its still FI.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

many times a big bore kit is/was installed due to it being a cheaper option instead of stock bore size....

also used for a little bit more kick, to cheat in "stock" classes or just for the heck of it....some brands are better than others..but if it running, I wouldn't bother with it...
