QUOTE I have a HALON in car system for the Boxster. NICE!!! I'll need the nozzles out of the kit along with the tubing. BEFORE cage it needs to be "somewhat" installed. One nozzle on the drive One on the passenger area One on the gas tank area/battery area One or two on the fuel rails in the engine compartment. Is this a system that you can arm/disarm for testing? If it is electric, we will mount the button on the plastic cowl section under the windshield. If it is the cable style, we will need a crimping tool for the "aluminum" cable crimps and some bicycle cable if it didnt come with extra. B |

Brad, if you make it up on the 12th, I'd think you might want to ride along with me as I chase him so you can watch his car at speed through the turns. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

B This was/is the 3 nozzle manual system that was going in The Beast. I also have a new fire extinguisher. We can decide what to do when you get here. Thanks, Bill P. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) KT Or you could ride in my car and watch the front of the Boxster from the rearview mirror. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Of course you would need somone capable of driving my car fast enough to do that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) |

Bill,
make sure you have a complete set of "screw driver" style Torx set also. Not just sockets. I'm going to shoot some pics tonight of the removal procedure for the ignition switch and 4 way flasher switch. These are the two that will give us the most hell during dash removal. B |

Locate a clear bra place in your area. You'll need to have the front of the car done to keep the paint nice!! Much easier to clean bugs off of ClearBra than it is paint!
Do you have the TALL 2 ton style jack stands? B |

I'm going to Robs place after work to bid on some computer work. I'll make sure everything is good on the nose shipping!
Rob is one street over from MOM and I'm 2 over from him. B |

Bill/Brad, I suggest you start thinking about assigning people to various projects ahead of time. If not, you're going to have spectators doing nothing. Good for learning, but bad for progress.
I'll bring some misc tools, including my plasma cutter and MIG, just in case. I can be there Friday night as well if it'll help. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Yep. I had already started thinking about "who" is going to do "what"
I figured Bill and I would put that list together as we stood in front of the car Friday night. Plasma will be perfect for cutting the doors (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) and knocking off some of the 1 million studs that protrude from the tub after you get the carpet out!! B |

B B, I'm also going to be purchasing the lightweight GT3 inner door covers with the 944 latches that he fabricates. When he told me how little they cost in relation to the solution, I couldn't resist. We still do all the cutting and lightening of the doors, but it will be covered in a nice clean look and still have indentations for the cage's x-bracing. This car is shaping up to be totally trick. And in the budget of race cars, this thing is relatively cheap to build. Note that I said "relatively".... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Bill P. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Hi Mark, Thanks for the offer of the plasma and mig and please bring them! I see B just posted a response, but perhaps between the 3 of us we can get alot of the stripping done on Friday night. As discussed, we have room for you to stay with us. I'll talk with Brad and get back to you on scheduling. Thanks again! Bill P. |

My initial thoughts were: 10k for the home user to build one+ purchase price of the car.

My initial thoughts were: 10k for the home user to build one+ purchase price of the car. B That is pretty much on the mark if you build a Spec Boxster to the letter of the law on a tight budget. You can get into the low $9K's to 9.5's if you don't buy extra rims, tires, quick disconnect steering wheel, etc. Also, the bold in Safety Devices cage will cost half the amount as a stick builty. No frills and a sanctioned POC race car for less than $10K in parts. Not bad I'd say... Bill P. |

That will be more than enough. You will have almost a full can left over for the track.
