Since the numbers are on the engine tin, and the shape of the engine tin for the 914 is different than everything else, it is not likely that it identifies the engienas 914. We know the alternator and the flywheel & clutch package is different than other engines as well. I confess to having no idea as to what they actually mean. There is far to many styles of coding to start with.
