Bugs and errors...
You get some sort of SMTP Mail Script error when posting messages. Users think you are not able to post and therefore submit a second time.... generating a duplicate post... |

Andy, I have to log in every time I visit, and when I click on the first unread post icon it always sends me to the first post on topic, then the unread post icon doesn't go away. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

This is a new behaviour, but a welcome one. It used to be that if I looked at a topic and used the back button to go back to the list I would get different behaviors depending upon which browser I was using. IE6 would go back and show me the previous page just the way I left it. Mozilla would go back, but always go back to the top of the page. Now Mozilla remembers how far down the page I was. That's nice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) hmmmmm. 1) i think it now actually jumps to the last post you read in a thread, not just the very last one in line. 2) i get that too. i'll have to look into that. anything else? Jeepers - I just joined yesterday and I couldn't even get on today to have a look around with my newly anointed "registered member" powers of enhanced BBS display ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Ahhh - but now the site is on the new server and all is well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) Now if you will excuse me I have 3 more pages of the "members cars" posts to go over and a Mr. Gints "rust-oration" thread to study. The Admin and members are to be congratulated on both your great site and the entertaining conversations. Thanks. Jon (rookie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) but glad to be here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) ) |

Andy,
First, my alternator still doesn't work. You probably need need a new server. Check with Brad on this -- he's probably forgotten. Secondly, I had to put in almost a full day at work. Let's not make a habit of this "outage" thing, eh? Other than that, it seems fine. kim. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Nah, I just figured that when you switched to the new server, many wrongs (and failed alternators are definitely in the "wrong" category) would be righted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Glad to see the new gear is running well! I'm sure the switch was more fun than you're letting on.... :-) kim. |
