Okay... I'm starting my strut assembly.
1. First I'm going to insert a new upper strut housing seal - easy to. 2. Next I will insert the strut cartidge in and slide it all the way down so that I can see the curved end through the roll-pin hole. Question... - Should I lubricate anything on the inside of the strut housing and/or should I apply lubricant on the cartidge anywhere (i.e., should I lube my shaft?).... huh huh huh... I said lube my shaft. If so, where? and what kind of lube? (don't say KY or Jergen's!!!!!) 3. Next will go on the cooling ducts in place of the brake shield. 4. I will also assemble the hub to the rotor (rear bearings and seal already installed and lubed with Mobil 1 synthetic bearing grease). 5. Slide the rotor/hub assembly on to the spindle. 6. Pack the front bearings with grease and slide the outer race/bearing assembly onto the spindle. 7. Insert the thrust washer 8. Thread on the the clamping nut and and adjust the bearing freeplay. 9. Tighten the clamping nut hex screw. 10. Replace grease cap. Am I missing anything? (IMG:http://www.my914-6.com/images/dscn2059.jpg) |
