Factory Published weight of a 914-4 Options

I am in need of an offical weight, prefferably a light one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Specs out of the technical specifications hand book claim 2139 lbs. So what I am looking for is a factory document that says it is lighter than this. Hopefully significantly. This also does not list if it is for a -4 or a -6 just the weight. And I am noit sure if that is dry weight or wet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I have R&T data that shows 2085 - 70 -4; 2195 -70 -6; and 2250 fot a 76 -4 I have found test data down to 1940 - 4. But it is not factory offical, but car test from early mag articles. I have also found Jurgen Barth notes of 900 Kg, converts to 1984 pounds.

So why do I want it to be offical. My auto-x class allows 100 pounds off with out taking points. So if I have a documented offical weight, I can work from there. I would have to add ballast when I play with SCCA in SM 2 for me it is 2100 but is that with driver or with out driver?

Thank you Sir (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) Since it is all one line I am going with 896kg, or 1975.341869 pounds. If I don't go below 1900lbs dry I should be good to go.

I would think the SCCA would get to choose the official weight.
they do in the GCR (general competition rules)

I had to buy a copy of the 1972 GCR's to build my car.

PCA chooses to accept the 2139 figure and thus their races require this weight for a stock car... This was the official US version weight... (euro's probably claimed lighter weight)

but I would think SCCA would do the same for autox

I know that cars often did weigh less
and the GCR even recognized this in 1972
still that an SCCA published weight and I'm suprised they don't use what they have already published.

Looked in the 06 GCR for Solo and found no weights listed for stock cars. The classes that require a min. weight tell you what it is.

I run NASA, which also does not list a minimum weight except that it has to be a factory claimed weight, and I can run a minimum of 100 pounds less. Which offsets my Lard butt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Another advantage is as I add stiffening, and roll bars, I can drop the weight down so I don't take a penalty for doing it. In SCCA I have to run SM2 which means I might have to add ballast to my car at a national level.

SCCA 2007 rules may change the Street mod wieght rule to align with other classes.

CC's and position of engine and wheel driven = pounds of car without driver.

Oh and my 70 with 1.7L engine was 1980 lbs.
