Is there a trick to the fitment of the rear trunk? I've tried several times after welding the pivot for the hinge. I didn't think I was off with the placement of the pivot but maybe I was. I just can't get the lid to fit flush. It is raised on both sides by 1/8th". Any suggestions?

Put a body shim under the front bolt where the hinge bolts to the deck. That fixed mine & it was raised more than 1/8".

I planned on messin' wit it today but some antiques got in the way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
Not only is the read deck askew but the engine bay lid will not move the last 1/8 of an inch back to where it's been since the last time I waxed the car & left a thin line of demarkation. Jest dunno what's going on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ............b |

Check to see if your engine lid mount bracket is tearing away. That will make the lid move towards the rear of the car. Only fix is to weld it.
