As other have said you can't remove feedback. He could pay $25 and join Square Trade and get it removed that way.

Also, why were you charged a Paypal fee for purchasing something. That doesn't make sense. Only the seller should be charged a Paypal fee.

Anthony,
I think he was charged when the paypal $ was returned to him. That's when the fees would come out.

I sent this Ebay seller an email before bidding on one of their items, also here is the reply I got. and the one I sent back.
To seller:
Your shipping seems a little high for being local. Would you consider lowering the shipping costs? I live in Orange county.

Let me know,
Scott

Yeh,
I hate when I see a good deal and shipping will be $24.99 or something.
This guy said "I have to get a box, drive to ups store and park" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

So seanery, which one is your favorite? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

My question is:

Does everyone think the seller should eat the 10$ worth of fees that Ebay and Paypal charge ? Or should the seller include them in the "shipping and handling" ??

I see what he is doing. All of us can do the same thing.

I think that most the time I am getting screwed.
I am often looking on ebay and see some things (dvd player for example) that might be a good deal.
I then look at the shipping and handling and it will be $20 - $30.00.
Paypal fees and ebay fees are not more that $6 or $7 and I think that is the cost of doing buisness.
Shipping, unless the item is very heavy or large, is usually only less that $10.00 or so ground.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=50599

That is one example.
I have got a few parcels to Canada after I paid $15 or $20 for shipping ant the shipping rate was on the package for $5 or $6.00.

If hes going to use the Shipping and Handling charge to alleviate his other fees he should note it in the listing of the Ad I think.

Call me a weary consumer but stupid Marketting gimmicks like this dont impress me. I doubt I'd purchuse from this guy, at any price. If he goes to this much effort to get out of some fees to Ebay, how hard is he going to work to screw me over?

Ebay and paypal fees can add up. They can add up to almost 9%. The seller has to pass this on the customer in one way or another - either a higher price or higher S&H.

I think complaining about shipping and handling is a waste of bandwidth here. It's the seller's auction and his rules. They have clearly stated their "shipped" price in this case. You either want it or you don't at that price. It's pointless to argue that the real shipping cost is less. Move on to the next auction with terms you like.

In this case does one really think that the shipper should sell this manual for a $1 and then ship for actual cost? He'd be getting less than $1 after fees for his manual. What's a reasonable price for a car manual?

The Ebay fees recently have jumped significantly...so has shipping...(screwing us during the holidays)

I dont condone what he is doing... but I also plan to bombard EBAY with 914 parts until I puke. I dont really care if any of the parts sell thru auction... but I will have to pay for everything I run, which means the price of the part will go up to cover the "advertising". Ebay (last time I checked) gets real pissy if you mention the "paypal" fees or "Ebay fees" in the ads. The way to get around this: include it in the shipping and handling.

Case in point with shipping (had nothing to do with Ebay or Paypal..just UPS)

A manufacturing company I know (LOL) has included 3-5$ on every single box shipped out for the last 20+ years (and nobody has complained). The reason: UPS charges 21$ a month to have every day pickup (5 days a week). Then UPS charges the shipper 8-10$ MORE if the address was incorrect in any way/shape/form (we are getting the address from a retailer..none of them check the address).. They also decide (UPS) when they need to impose a fuel surcharge to yor regular bill. All of this ads up.. why should the manufacturer eat it ?? The 3-5$ extra on every box doesnt always cover the money owed on shipping at the end of the month. It is a hassle dealing with all shipping companies.

Guys,

You think that's bad... my friend sold this car on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2433268732

The buyer had it planned all along to defraud him... he purchased the vehicle insurance from ebay... later after he recieved the car (I think it was shipped to Texas), he told my friend that he's been ripped off, the engine is not original and a bunch of BS. My friend said he never claimed it's original and he never check the box that it's original mileage on pink slip.... Anyways... so he offered to refund him back the deposit of $400, if and only he left positive feedback, which he did, and said the deal is done, just to get rid of this guy.

Next thing you know, he's telling eBay he's been defrauded, wanted $1600 from eBay insurance. He told them the same, bs... that he didn't get the hard top, it's not original engine, smoke was coming out of the engine... Trust me, I know my friend wouldn't keep a f*cken hard top to a car he doesn't have any longer (I'm at his house at least once a week and I don't see a hard top laying around) and I was with him when we took the car to get smogged here in CA a couple weeks before he sold it on eBay. He was hoping to sell it local on craigslist but buyers are flaky on CL.

He threaten my friend w/ all this legal mumbo jumbo... eBay called and everything trying to get them two to settle it. But it was obvious this guy wasn't going away, calling his office, HR, home, etc. Well, my friend finally forwarded the e-mail to eBay saying how if the buyer got the deposit back that the deal is done. eBay must have squred it off with him and gave him another $200 from what I was told.

Anyways... EBAY SUCKS! It's obvious if he left positive feedback... then deal is done right... he came back trying to collect from my friend and eBay... what an A**HOLE! EBay just assumed my friend, who doesn't speak english that well, was guilty. How would it pass smog if he claims smoke was coming out of engine & exhaust and what's up w/ saying he didn't send the hard top.

Bottom line it's a $3300 car plus shipping... and the f*cken guy wanted it for free... there's premeditated thought there when he purchased insurance on a $3300 car...

I hate eBay nowadays... I've been screwed over more than once myself... both selling and buying...

I have gotten some good deals and met some nice people... but the times I got screwed over, left a bad taste in my mouth...

I just mailed a box. Weight app. 2 lbs.

Postage was $7.40 for ground shipment to the USA (10 day delivery).

Add the cost of the box I bought to ship $2.16 and if I wanted insurance on it, add another $2.55 (up to $100 value)

Total = $9.56 (without insurance)
$12.11 (with)

You want it to get there faster add a bunch more $$$

At least the guys on ebay that post the shipping charges are giving you a indication as to the costs. They could have just listed their items as "Buyer pays actually shipping costs" and then hit you with a $9.00 bill. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
