I'll be coming up from Charlotte to my father's house in Richmond on Friday.... then leaving from Richmond on Saturday morning. My teener is cut open and getting prepped for major surgery, so I'll be in my expedition.

If there is a meeting point around Richmond way, let me know.

One week out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Anyone want to start making plans on meeting up and having a caravan?? I'll be leaving (trying to) Richmond around 6:00 a.m. I think D.C. is about 2-2.5 hours. Maybe a breakfast meet at Eudoras I think it's called ??

Jon when are you leaving and will you be anywhere within my path before D.C.? I want to make certain I'm clear out of your way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Mike we could certainly make one !! IIRC your dad is on the southside right? I remember you knowing my area fairly well. Either way I'll be heading out 288 to 95 N. Let me know what you want to do. I also need to call JPB and see what he is planning on doing.

Scotty... my father's house is in the west end.... near 295 and 64. IIRC you are coming from out powhattan way.... you could come 288 north to 64... then we could hook up somewhere around 288/64/295 (short pump area)..... zip out 295 and catch 95 north of town.

Thoughts, comments, testimonials?

Some parts that I could bring if someone is interested:

Steering rack protection plate, just sandblasted, in primer with gaskets.

Red driver side rear taillight lense

Front braided flexible brake lines; used; Free

Temp gauge from center console; no sender

Center cushion; no rips on top, a very small ciggy blemish, bottom fuzzy stuff is coming off

NOS bellows for turbo tie rods; not the tie rods just to be clear.

Front bumperettes, one has a little ripple from an impact. - Free

1.7L Heads; no rockers; one is ok; one has a crack

Windshield washer bottle

Used 4-lug front rotors w/bearings and strut, 75% remaining - Free

Used 4-lug rear rotors, 75% remaining - Free

Pair front 4-lug brake calipers.

Jerry - I'll take (buy, trade, etc) that steering rack cover plate. Have a slightly pitted one to trade too

I'll be heading from York. Evil will be heading from Harrisburg. I will be in my suby though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) But chances are that you could meet up with the Doc somewhere before he meets up with Spoke on 15.

Huh. I guess that I would go west in PA to take advantage of the great 914 roads, then grind down 95. Rt 30 is slower, but it is a very pretty drive. I understand the value of "just getting there" too. We will see you there!

Hmm, you present an interesting point. My 914 will be keeping my jackstands busy, but I'll either be coming down in my Beetle or (gasp) Miata. Either one is more fun on backroads. Taking my time driving down there seems like a good idea, I'd be willing to meet up somewhere . . .

Now that I am seriously thinking about it, as one of the event planners I should probably be aiming to get there earlier then everyone else to help set up, get last minute stuff, etc. I might be a very poor choice to try and caravan with.

No big deal, it was more of an open comment to anyone heading down that way from up this way.

I'm leaving from the PA/DE border on 95 south Sat a.m.
I was going to spin north from Towson? Rand McNally quotes me a 2.5 hr drive...
I may have my son follow in his VW for backup/support.
If it is a hard core rain, I may just drive the old 320....

I'll be coming from Baltimore, across 70 or maybe Route 26 around noon. Does that match up with any of you guys? Weather's looking good, high 70's and a few clouds!
