I'm trying to get the correct distributor installation in regards to the vacuum advance cannister. Does someone have a picture of their distributor that they can send me.

Where is Ball joint when you need him.

There is a picture in the factory manual and in the haynes. and the rebuild Type IV engine book (red cover)

when properly "indexed", the vacuum canister is located toward the top seam of the engine cases. if indexed wrong (thanks scott, but that's another story...) you might not be able to set the timing of the engine because the canister hits the case before the correct timing can be reached.
