I will pay the membership there with no problems. It is cheap & I have gotten alot from the club over the years. I'd be happy to pay one here too if that ever changed. I really appreciate all the work the admins do on our behalf. Thanks guys

I think it is completely personal, but I like to do my part to help our cool little cars and the clubs that help them stay popular.

"914 club versa 914 world thing"

I came here after that, I guess, and don't know anything about it. (although I have seen people bring it up) I read and post on both sites and will continue to be part of both. Don't see any reason not to, other than wanting to miss out on some cool stuff. If it's personal to some, I understand and will just keep out of it. Seems like it's just easier that way. I just want to have a cool 914 and for me the best option is having all the info I can get.

Pay if you want - Its not manditory. Besides the paypal link doesn't work! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I get value from both sites and enjoy people that only frequent one site or the other. I paid because it relieves my guilt in getting so much information and enjoyment from so many people. I'd pay here too, if you'd let me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks to all of those who make both this site and the other, available to us!

Happy Holidays!

It's my understanding that the dues were always optional. If you don't pay it you can still log on, use the site, ask questions etc. and benefit from the information available there. I haven't seen any advantage (yet) of subscribing so maybe I won't this time.
Cheers, Elliot

I don't think they have the bottomless server pit we have the luxury of here so; the advantage would be in helping to keep the bandwidth up (pictures etc.) and the site running.

If you enjoy the wealth of information these types of sites can generate, $0.07 per day is fairly inexpensive. I see the value in volitional subscriptions. Always have.

I personaly know several of the admins here, and at the club. I consider them all my friends. I know that any of them would help me in any way they could if I asked. I am a subscriber at the club, and would do the same here if needed. People at both sites have something to contribute to the 914 knowledge base, and after all, that is why we are here, and there.

Well, I agree with all of you, some more more than others. So to add my

support to the entire 914 community i renewed my membership. I also support

the 914 group on yahoo. And would be agreeable to one here. I know nothing

about the operation of a site like this, but it has to take time and money. Kudos

to the administration for a very good job. Dave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)

do we really need to discuss this?

Probably not.

when you get a notice from PCA, BMW, Sam's Club or whatever group you belong to that it is time to renew your membership, you evaluate the value your membership gives you and then make your "Personal" decision, predicated on the perceived value to you. You don't start a subject thread on another website. Maybe you send a querry to the admins of the site in question?
The difference in this case is that you would lose none of your abilities to use the site or it's contents if you chose not to renew your membership.

So the need for this thread is nothing more than one more attempt to stick yet another fork into a subject that is long ago DONE.
