Dave, what does membership provide you?

I will pay the membership there with no problems. It is cheap & I have gotten alot from the club over the years. I'd be happy to pay one here too if that ever changed. I really appreciate all the work the admins do on our behalf. Thanks guys

I think it is completely personal, but I like to do my part to help our cool little cars and the clubs that help them stay popular.

"914 club versa 914 world thing"

I came here after that, I guess, and don't know anything about it. (although I have seen people bring it up) I read and post on both sites and will continue to be part of both. Don't see any reason not to, other than wanting to miss out on some cool stuff. If it's personal to some, I understand and will just keep out of it. Seems like it's just easier that way. I just want to have a cool 914 and for me the best option is having all the info I can get.

Pay if you want - Its not manditory. Besides the paypal link doesn't work! biggrin.gif

I get value from both sites and enjoy people that only frequent one site or the other. I paid because it relieves my guilt in getting so much information and enjoyment from so many people. I'd pay here too, if you'd let me! wink.gif

Thanks to all of those who make both this site and the other, available to us!

Happy Holidays!

It's my understanding that the dues were always optional. If you don't pay it you can still log on, use the site, ask questions etc. and benefit from the information available there. I haven't seen any advantage (yet) of subscribing so maybe I won't this time.
Cheers, Elliot

I don't go there so I'm not paying. Stuck it in my junk mail folder with the Viagra ads.

I don't think they have the bottomless server pit we have the luxury of here so; the advantage would be in helping to keep the bandwidth up (pictures etc.) and the site running.

If you enjoy the wealth of information these types of sites can generate, $0.07 per day is fairly inexpensive. I see the value in volitional subscriptions. Always have.
Bleyseng
I'll pay as it will help the server situation.......

Eric,

You used "volitional" in a sentence, you rock! aktion035.gif

I personaly know several of the admins here, and at the club. I consider them all my friends. I know that any of them would help me in any way they could if I asked. I am a subscriber at the club, and would do the same here if needed. People at both sites have something to contribute to the 914 knowledge base, and after all, that is why we are here, and there.

I never got the email, they must not want me? confused24.gif

Well, I agree with all of you, some more more than others. So to add my

support to the entire 914 community i renewed my membership. I also support

the 914 group on yahoo. And would be agreeable to one here. I know nothing

about the operation of a site like this, but it has to take time and money. Kudos

to the administration for a very good job. Dave slap.gif
DanT
do we really need to discuss this?

Probably not.

when you get a notice from PCA, BMW, Sam's Club or whatever group you belong to that it is time to renew your membership, you evaluate the value your membership gives you and then make your "Personal" decision, predicated on the perceived value to you. You don't start a subject thread on another website. Maybe you send a querry to the admins of the site in question?
The difference in this case is that you would lose none of your abilities to use the site or it's contents if you chose not to renew your membership.

So the need for this thread is nothing more than one more attempt to stick yet another fork into a subject that is long ago DONE.
McMark
We do get the "Should I re-up my PCA?" threads pretty regularly.
DanT
again a personal question I would think.

I agree with Dan as well. I just think the 1st anniversary nature of this brings about the threads. This too will pass.

I'm going on record in favor of supporting content/community sites in any way you possibly can.

I was just thinking about this a few days ago. When I got my first 914 back in 1980, there was no way to hook up with other 914 owners and do national and regional events. You "might" see one passing by on the street and get a wave or a blink of the lights. The 911 guys wanted nothing to do with us. We would scour the world for pamplets and advertisements to find whatever goodies we could to bolt on to our cars.

Fast forward to 2007/2008. Just think of all the get togethers, fun runs, BBQ's and regional/national events. Just look at the specialty vendors that this technology has spawned. People who enjoy keeping these cars alive. And look at the communities of 914's now, The CO gang, SoCal, NorCal, Middle Atlantic, NorEast, Northwest... here in SLC I've met some of my best friends through this community.

Content/Community sites are gud. Fighting is not. Allow this thread to say exactly what Dan is saying, the subject is done. wink.gif

That was point of my orig. post which was deleted w/o notice,
That issue of: would my access still be availble w/o paying to register, wasnt clear to me. And Yes I DID send a email to asking the Q but hadnt yet gotten a response.
Yet subsequent identical posts were allowed to continue mad.gif screwy.gif

Dan:

Sorry if in some way I offended you; I thought this site was a discussion

group for All things related to the 914. I surely did not mean to stick a fork in

you or anyone!!! Dave slap.gif

I don't use the 914club website, so I wouldn't subscribe.

Besides, all of the information you could pay for there is the same information here, and available for free. In fact, 914world probably has twice the useful information now smile.gif If anyone should be taking donations it's the admins who made this site work. And club NARP.

Dave,
I did not take any personal offense to the question...just thought it was really not needed on many levels....

Just my opinion and others are allowed to have theirs. smile.gif

Got my notice too. No biggee, since I've gone there maybe 3 times in the last year. Probably will go there again on a flirting basis.

No harm, no foul.

I like to think they will survive, because you NEVER know where the next gem will come from.

Good luck to the "club"! We need every itty bitty piece of knowledge out there.
