Getting closer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I just shipped a box of parts and tools out. Ya gotta love those flat rate USPS boxes, the box was at least 30lbs. Be careful when you lift it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Also, Trevor, one person is gonna try to get his tranny to you before he shows up. Probably via Gray Hound. Did you get the other tranny from the depot?

Dr. - Can you please fill a perscription for me?
I'll need 8 new groovy washers for my CV bolts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
I have a feeling others may want these as well, so maybe bring a whole box of 'em just for kicks. I call em groovy but you call them schoor or something like that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Remind me after the 1st when I am packing my suitcase so I dont forget. I only charge $.30ea for them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I may make up a few bolt kits as well if I find the time, $20ea kit since I wont have to ship them, comes with washers, wire and bolts.

well, my tranny is slightly apart right now and pending re-assembly (just the shift linkage portion) by mid-next week. So hopefully I won't need your help. But I'm still planning on stopping by either Fri or Sat for a little lookey-loo. Have a safe trip out next week, Doc!

I have 2 sets of shift rods for side shifters just sitting in a drawer, and at least one good nosecone available for those doing a tail-side conversion (second nosecone is OK, but the ears have been welded back on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) ). What I need is the shifter parts for a 912, plus the nosecone. Anyone want to trade? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Mike,
I have the parts you need for the 912, but I also have all the side shifter parts. I have 2 full sets currently available. If you want to chat about the 912 parts, drop me a PM. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i have been lurking here trying to figure out if this is where i need to go to get my tranny working right...i have a '72 1.7 tailshifter that got a new synchro and slider when i bought the car a couple years ago....my problem seem to be going from 3 to 4 and back...usally get some grinding trying to find one gear or the other....i have a feeling it could be linkage and was thinking converting to a side shifter may cure the problem...what do you think?

That sounds like an external problem as 4th has a different slider than 3rd and to go from one to the other you need a competent external shifter assembly: bushings, cone screws, etc. Also, 3rd and 4th seldom wear out before 1st and 2nd. Click on my tranny rebuild link below and read the check list of possible external problems to check.
I am a fan of the side shifter setup, but a properly maintained tail shifter can be made to shift fine. If you want to convert, I have the side shift internals for ya. You will still need to source the shifter assembly from the stick to the tranny, the engine bar, mounts from the engine to the bar, and mounts from the bar to the chassis. It sounds like a lot, but it is not too hard to find these parts.
Feel free to stop by and watch. If you decide before hand that you want to rebuild your tranny, please let me know so I can plan accordingly.

Okay, getting caught up here. Been busy with the Christmas, blah blah blah (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

Mike, No I have not sourced the motor mounts but I was going to drive up to HPH next week. I did pick up the tranny from Greyhound and it is resting in the garage. I also received a box of nuts/bolts.

T minus 6 days!

If it is of any help, I can get the mounts or any other parts from Rich at HPH bring them with me. Rich and I are having a very close relationship (fixing my 1.8 vacum leak).

Thank you James. I will keep you posted if I need help with these. If I do I need the inner and outer mounts.

Thanks again, I will let you know.

I dont play Guitar Hero, knowing how to play real guitar is a detriment in that game. I'll bring my guitar with me and your kids can tell me, "Real guitars are for old people." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
