Thanks. I am always doing something to it. My wife calls it my mistress. Although she teases me she is very supportive of the work I do on it.

Obtaining spousal approval is like winning half the battle (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

My wife has become a lot more supportive since I bought her her own 914. She's talking about having the interior reupholstered in the near future, and she's bugging me less and less about all the cars and parts I've got stashed around here. Geez, I should have done this years ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

She just recently offered to buy me a 4-post hydraulic lift so I can get more cars back on the road (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) Nice. My wife just wants me to get the '70 S finished so she can drive it. She really likes the fact I race and work on cars. If you guys are single just remember that if they give you crap about your cars now they always will. If they like your cars now they will be supportive of your adiction.... at least somewhat. Let’s see your babies, 914’s only please!
We really don’t care what kind of POS water-cooled you drive. Unless it’s a 914 V-8 conversion of course!

Sorry our pic is a bit crappy.

Here is my 1971 914 it is all original, and just about flawless you will never believe me but i only paid 100$ for it. It was one owner i am the second. Garaged mostly it's whole life. Fuel injected, all i had to do to get it running was clean the fuel pump, and put new fuel lines on it, it had been sitting for a number of years, oh i drained the old gasoline out and put some super in it.Attached Image

how many miles?

it has 97,xxx all documented miles. It has gas receipts dating back to 1971, every oil change, all service records, it even has the original footrest for the passenger (i admit i didn't know what it was until i did some research). It has the owners manual with the dealers stamp. It was an amazing score, I still can't believe it. The guy that sold it to me apparently thought it wasn't worth the effort. Aye, tis 'Howie' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/howard.gif)

We were fortunate to get all the original components too (footrest, tool kit, battery top cover and service records).

I recently changed the wheels to Empi's and plan to put a Bursch exhaust on (for a little more HP and better sound), but keeping all the original parts (will powder-coat the steel wheels and repaint the muffler with gray VHT or =)

I think black ATS wheels will look good on your car. The Empi's only have stock 165's on them (because of the VW bug offset), but they look OK on her car.

I recently picked up a set of black ATS wheels for me black '75 (see a few posts back). I plan to have the lips and ribs polished and the centers painted to either match or contrast-accentuate the body color when the car gets repainted.

... just made a killer deal on a set of 14x6 5-lugs too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Now the big problem is which car to put them on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

still those empis look great...i really like those. IMO they are nicer than fuch or pedrini .. i know heresy, but those empis are really nice looking!

Here is my 73 914 1.7

its pretty much original cept for the monza system, rebuilt with 2.0 heads etc, and the marathon blue metallic-ish paint on it, and radio

my mom is the orignal owner, so i have all the documentation on it.
Basically, it was my hs project, and daily driver
