This is my wife Minerva's 1973 914 2.0 that she purchased new in May of 1973. It has about 83,000 miles and we are working to get it back on the road by May of 2013 for it's 40th birthday. Here's what we've done so far.

Looking good! I see at least one 65-66 fastback behind her; I had a 65 GT way back when.....

Yeah, you probably should have kept the fastback just as I should have kept my '66 911, one of only a little over 3200 manufactured worldwide that year. And mine had the wood dash trim and OEM Nardi wheel and gas heater. I bought it in 1976 for $3000 sold it in 1979 for $4500 and thought I did great, I mean a 50% profit! today you can expect to shell out $50 ~ 75,000 for a driver. Shsssh, who knew!?! At least my wife had the good sense to keep her 914 and we're never gonna sell it.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) You shouldn't have sold your '66. IIRC, only 3,154 '66 M/Y 911s were manufactured .

As for values increasing, a restored '64 911 sold at an RM Amelia Island auction earlier this year for $225k (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) ... 64 911 Link

Nice job on your wife's 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

We really don’t care what kind of POS water-cooled you drive. Unless it’s a 914 V-8 conversion of course!

Sorry our pic is a bit crappy.

Here's a shot of the beast...recent LS1 V-8 conversion. I've never really had a habit of naming cars, but I kinda like Steffi. I mean, all cars are female, she's German yet resides in Vegas (coincidentally, the home of Renegade Hybrids!), powerful, tennis ball yellow, a product of the 1970s (well, junior tennis coming up through the ranks at least!). I'm debating about putting a small Chevy logo on the car somewhere, but I don't like clutter for the most part.

I have used 914world to sell a few parts, make a few contacts, etc.
I have not posted much but here is a picture of the rebuilt motor before install.
My car is not finished completely, but getting closer.

When the car was purchased it had a 1.7L motor.
The case was cracked, so a 1.7L case from a vw bus was used.
The cylinders were reconditioned, and a 1.8L piston set installed.

What's the value on a Porsche 914/6, 1970? I'm looking for info on my car that I want to sell. I'm near Seattle, WA and the car belonged to my husband. He died in 2010 and I've finally decided it's time to sell it. I posted pictures and info on this site link. There is a local Porsche guy who is interested in buying the car. He has a Porsche shop in Seattle. I'd love to get some feedback before I have him look at the car. My husband drove the car from 1979-1980 and it's been stored inside ever since. The engine is under the car. Thanks!
