I'm sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but I've been out of town for over a week on vacation. I was informed that Dave passed away while in a coma on Sat June 28th. My heart felt condolences go out to his family and all others that knew him.

This was the only Dave/GPR thread that I've been watching, so again I apologize if this was posted elsewhere.

Damn...I just saw this post and started from the beginning hoping it would have a happy ending...I guess not (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Sorry to hear about this, Dave was a standup guy, went out of his way to personally call me a few times if an order was somehow mucked up.

Wow this really sucks. I saw Dr Evils tribute to Dave and said WTF and went on a search and found this terrible thread.
I used to race with Dave in the early to mid 90's with the Cal Poly Sports Car Club. He even let me drive one of his cars when mine broke at the track (my very first 914 drive - it's all his fault!) He donated a nice big oil cooler for my truck to use as a transmission cooler so I could tow our clubs timing trailer out to the Santa Maria Airport without burning up my transmission. I remember that he used to really tear up the 1/4 or 3/8 mile dirt oval at Santa Maria speedway in the 4 banger class until they outlawed his car. He also got me parts at a discount - Ford and Fiat parts mind you, he went way out of his way to help out a poor college kid keep his car running.

I remember even way back then that he was burning the candle at both ends and was under a lot of stress and it did him good to get on Sunday and relax and run a few good laps. It's a little late to say condolences but what the heck. We will miss you Dave. Now I get to tell my sports car club buds that an old friend of the club is gone, I don't think anyone of them know.
Steve

Mark, I am connected to many Porsche, VW, and Audi groups in this area. If there is any way I can get you more biz, let me know. I always wear my old GPR shirt, but is the contact info still valid? Are you guys lacking a site still? PM me if I can be of assistance.

Everything is still the same, the IT guy tells us the web site is due up "any day now". We have someone inputting content now, so hopefully it's up soon. You can always call the 800 #.
Sorry if this comes across as a plug. I really do miss Dave. It was creepy hearing his voice on the answering machine when we re-did the phones. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I drew the plug from you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I dealt with Dave a lot and always had a great experience. It is my belief that he would approve of his biz surviving on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
