Well the smashed front end look works for me.

Chris didn't seem to think so. So he is repairing it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First rule of the road, Use you own brakes not the cars in front of you.

Been there done that. Normally expensive.

Let see it when the body is done.

Actually Ed is responsible for most of the progress so far. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The repair looks good so far.

Chris, do you have any pictures of a front corner repair that includes the inner fender. I've got to replace my passenger side corner and want to see how the experts do it.

This is the closest thing I have. I just welded this piece on my race car a couple weeks ago.

Thanks that helps. I've got to patch up my front corner and was wondering where to cut. Mine needs a similar repair. I might have to bring it to the door pillar. The door is tight when I close it.

I suggest completely removing the fender by drilling out the spot welds.
Then you can repair the inner fender/floor/front panel. While the fender is off, do whatever metal repairs are needed to it. Then reattach and paint.

Will do. thanks for the advice. The only concern I have is getting the front suspension points lined up right. I'll have to fab up a jig so everything lines up square. The forward mount for the front control arm is tweaked up about an inch and a half. It looks like Turboman's damage didn't affect the suspension geometry.

It does not look like the front strut tower was moved...

I would suggest that you replace only what is needed. That is alot easier to line up thing.

If the whole fender was pushed, take it off. The rear of the fender is attached to the same piece of sheet metal that the hinges are attached to...could be the issue.

I'm hoping it's just preloaded and when I straighten it out the door will fit nice. All the door lines seem to match up real well. It just seems that the door is an 1/8 too big. I can hear some metal to metal contact in the door lock area when I close it. The door requires a bit more force to close because of this. Is there a way to adjust the door locks that I'm not seeing?

It doesn't need much. Just a tad to stop it from hanging up in the door lock.

We bolted my jig up to Turboman's car today. It looks like the mount is still in the proper location.

Repair pieces are nearly ready to weld in place.

When the 4 screws that hold the strike plate to the door jamb are loosened, the plate should move around a little bit. It may be corroded in place though. IIRC the part on the door is not adjustable.

Looking really good. I don't think Dave was to happy about me wanting to go back the the stock fenders over the slant nose fenders. But really once you finish he might change his mind.

Thanks for doing what I imagine in my mind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
