Hey Ken

Are you driving the six? I've been wanting to see it since you first posted pics of it when you bought it.

I'm in for the run too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Where are we gonna drive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ?

Jim

Jim,

I'm looking at coming over from San Juan Bautista to make the run. Do you want to meet up and run up the coast together.

Ken Schipper

Ken,

Sounds good. Looks like google says from Aptos 1 hr 20 to 1 hr 40 depending on if we go hwy 84 or Pescadero Rd. from Hwy 1 to La honda. If we leave Aptos at 9am we should be good. I live right off of Hwy 1 at the Rio Del Mar exit. Meet at the gas station on the west side of the overpass or at my house (1 minute up the road) at 9 am and we should be good to go. I will send you a PM with my address if you wanna come here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Are you bringing the 6 or the 4?

Hello Dave,

I should be able to make it tomorrow. I will be bringing the yellow car, and not the white one. A friend of mine, might also make it. He has a kit car that is kind of interesting in a retro way... Has a porsche 2.4 six in it...

I know that we've been slacking on the breakfasts lately, but who can pass up a gathering on 9/14? (9/14/08 for you SB guys, even!)

How about lunch at the Tied House in Mountain View? Noon sounds like a good time for it.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...e=UTF8&z=14

Parking is easy out back, and there's another lot in front across the street if you are so minded.

Who's in?

Well, I thought we were going to make it, but my brother's truck needs a new headgasket so that has become the project this weekend. Have fun, guys!

Yesterday was the second time I saw that car, and it is even nicer than I remembered it. It deserves at least two holy craps, 100 wow's and lots of these (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Midtowner should post pics of his car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) In the family for 34 years IIRC, original paint, also a time capsule.

Dave Darling had his car there with fresh paint from Yeaman's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

The drive was fun, and for me there is nothing better than running thru the hills with a group of 914's. Thanks to Peter (Hydroliftin) for putting the route together and James (jesiv) for being the tour guide (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

9/14 ruled!

I couldn't agree more! It was a really fun route. Thanks for leading the pack James, I thought your pace was good -- not too fast, but fun. I hope we can get in another fun run before it starts getting wet. The weather is cooler now, so let's plan something again soon.

It was a real thrill to lead the pack. And of course it was "not too fast" as I have a 75 1.8L.

If anyone wants to meet up and do this again I am game. When ever possible, I plan early 1-3+ hour morning drives for Saturday and Sunday. At least while it is nice weather and I don’t have to work on my car. I have examined a lot of the roads in this area and have discovered some really nice twisties. If you are not familiar with this area, we have some of the best twisty mountain roads. In addition they have recently paved a lot of the roads so it is smooth sailing…

If you ever want to meet up for a drive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) send me a pm.

Regards,

James
