Never mind, as soon as I posted they showed up. I guess its an odd thing for this particular forum. I was having trouble posting the image at first. Do you mean that the image is odd and does not really work (ie, you don't like it) or that its odd that the image did not load right away? Constructive criticism is a good thing. Zach |

...I am not sure what Hershey park might say if we have a banner with "Hershey" on it. Maybe just MidEngine Invasion. They might own the rights to the name 'HersheyPark' and the candy brand, but as a city name, it's fair game. I figure as long as we're open to Boxsters and Caymans it's a great name... |

Alright, I have been looking into hotels in the area. I have completely neglected the closest hotels to the event due to them generally being booked long in advance. There is no shortage of hotels in the area, though. However, finding ones with bars in them is difficult as there are a lot of small motels around, but not larger hotels. Also, those with bars tend to either be expensive, booked, or the bars close early (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) There is hope, though. Down the street from my house is a cluster of hotels that are within walking distance to two bar/restaurants; Duke's and Dimitri's. These are the "Palmyra" locations below. The Holiday Inn in Grantville is rather large and has restaurants and bars in it, but I dont know how long they are open. It is a possibility that we could take over the 3-4 motels in Palmyra, this would be the closest and, IMHO, the best setup. But, I differ to the group as I do not have time to call all of these places and get rates, etc.
On the map, the red dot is the location of the swap/race, II is Palmyra, III is Grantville, and IV is Off of 39 Manada Hill exit. In Palmyra: walking distance to Dukes, and Dimitri’s Scottish Inn 1518 E Chocolate Ave Hershey, PA Chocolatetown Motel 1806 E Chocolate Ave Hershey, PA Milton Motel 1733 E Chocolate Ave Hershey, PA In Grantville: Holiday inn 604 Station Rd Grantville, PA Comfort Suites Grantville 450 Station Road Grantville, PA 17028 Hampton Inn Harrisburg-Grantville/Hershey 255 Bow Creek Road, Grantville, PA 17028 Econo Lodge/ Days Inn Grantville 252 Bow Creek Rd., Grantville, PA 17028 Off of 39: Country Hearth Inn 7965 Jonestown Rd Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 545-6944 Scottish Inn 7975 Jonestown Rd Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 901-8383 Days Inn Harrisburg 7848 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 652-9578 Comfort Inn 7744 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 540-840 Howard Johnson 7930 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 540-9100 Country Inn 8000 Jonestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 651-5100 Manada Hill Inn 128 North Hershey Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112 Friendly Inn 8004 Allentown Blvd Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 652-2634 Super 8 7500 Allentown Boulevard Harrisburg, PA 17112 (717) 652-0101 Attached image(s) |

The closest campground (A) will likely be book solid, but you can call. The second closest campgrounds (B and C) are not too far and will likely have room. If you just want a place to park and sleep in your van you can use my driveway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Please take a serious note regarding the train tracks next to campground A.
This is speaking from experience...you wont sleep. This is the main line for all trains going to the east coast...its non stop, its all shipping trains...they are really long with multiple engines...it sucks ass. We rented a cabin there...nice little wood cabin, no frills. There is a tiny little sign posted on the counter about a FOOT off the floor. It stated. "Occasional Train traffic on site, no refunds" It was every 15 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG. I got more sleep leaving here at midnight and driving right through till 6 am. Rich |

I can recommend Chocolete Town Motel , I have stayed there for many yrs. clean , reasonable. As Doc. said with walking distance of Duke's and Dimitris of the 2 i prefer Duke's good food and Suds. Large enough to handle lg. group. Dave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) |
