Those are steel, I think the ones most people get are fiberglass...
That doesnt look like it would be too hard to duplicate tho... |

All's fair in love and war. I love you guys.
I may bid on it... But it has some time to go... No sense bidding NOW, until we see where it goes. |

We may need to do a group buy, and duplicate the darn thing. The FG ones usually used are copies of this piece, but who knows how good a copy it is. I have original, NOS, steel flairs and a rear bumper. I've been owed the front bumper set for about ten years. Don't know if its original or not. However, having access to original parts is a real plus.

Well let's see with six days left and the way you guys are bidding you would be able to buy a six conversion by the time this auction is over.
If I bought I would definetly use it to make copies, but then I could do that with the fiberglass one also. CCLINDUCTWORK |

I think that is a good idea Dave P that WE effin buy the thing and have RestorDesign dupe it. Even if its bent up it can be cleaned up so it can be used for a pattern. IF we wanted to make them out of fiberglass, Morphenspecter has a fiberglass business.
In fact, I was talking to him about doing a really nice copy of a real LE spoiler (he has one) instead of these mickymouse ones everyone sells (Kevin speak out about this) that don't fit. I know Karl uses that sniping program big time, Haha So whats the point of all of us sniping each other on this????? Geoff |

Restoration Design won't do it, I promise. Who would spend the $$$ (and I mean $$$$$$) for the ten guys a year that would pay the price???
Kerry Morse makes a knock-off in steel, I think it's only $750 or so! From my experience with eBay, the guy that bids the most gets it, friendships be dammed when it comes to auctions. You should go to an estate auction sometime, when granny dies without a will, and all the surviving family have a bidding war over something that's worth $3. However, the guy that dies with the best collection of cool Porsche parts (cars included) is the winner. The "real" LE spoilers are fg anyway. PK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

The real LE spoilers are hard to find...yes they are fiberglass...(Hi Perry! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) ) I don't think Gary Emory has any more...at least he didnt respond to my inquiry abbout them awhile back. |

I had the lower wheel housing piece on order for, oh, about 200 years. I actually stopped in the shop to visit them and pick up a bunch of stuff they "did" have in stock (I'm originally from Eaton Rapids and my parents still live there). I called occasionally (not too often) and only got Bill "once"... once, about two months after the new tooling was supposed to be done. He stated, "It should be by the end of the month." He also said "I have it on order for you and I'll definately call before we ship". I called again 2 months after that... no answer, left a message. I repeated that procedure about 4 times. NEVER got a return call... this is from someone whom I ordered from and visited in person.
In the meantime, I had to schedule my car back in the shop and missed having it painted. I'm still waiting for the shop to finish the custom/custom rod that's in there and it still pisses me off that Bill couldn't pick up the damn phone and call a customer who had not only took the time to visit his shop and bought a bunch of shit but a customer that needed to buy a bunch more shit! Just plain S-T-U-P-I-D (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) I'm glad you guys got what you wanted and it's nice to hear they pick up the phone occasionally but... I know for a fact that I'm not alone. |

Yep, a real LE spoiler is on Morphenspecter car as RichD (who has one off his LE) and I have looked at it twice now. I had one on my car when I bought it (it exploded on a speed bump). My idea is to produce a real LE not the one that is sloped instead of level where it wraps around to the wheel opening.
Maybe John Kelly will make the GT oil cooler shrouds in metal with this as a pattern. Geoff |

I have a real LE spoiler.. it doesnt feel or look like fiberglass. It looks/feels more like a ABS plastic. It is rubbery compared to fiberglass. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
