There was a large VW swap meet & car show a few miles from my house today. About 100 cars, buss's and you name it attended along with a swap meet at the Karmann facility in the local area. I really like the VW buss's. I'll post a few more photo's later this evening when I have more time. I Love VW events, parts are cheap in the swap meet when you find 914 stuff. I found a few bargins & lined myself up with a secrete vendor who has a large collection of used 914 stuff he wants to get ride of cheap. He buys 914's for the short block motors used in his racing buggy's & does not want 914 stuff. More on this later. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) Tom Attached thumbnail(s) |

Nel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Hi Nel & Rob, Small world, Elk Rapids is a beautiful place. Northern MI is a truly beautiful area that is still a big secrete. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) We love the area. Hope you guys get the tax man off your back. Keep the faith. Tom Now: Back to the program. Remember that $10K car on the web everyone was talking about. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) Nice guy who owned it & didn't care if he sells it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) Lots of lookers. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Now some serious stuff. In my weaker moment I paid $20 bucks for this 2.0 Liter engine air housing complete with an alternator. It's a really nice original piece under all that grease. Do you think I can sell it for $150.00 bucks??? I also picked up some 914 wrenches, etc. cheap. I passed up lots of heavy stuff. My rule is never buy iron only the small stuff that stores well. VW meets are good places to find reasonable $$914 stuff.
