Wow, what a plan! This one is too close to miss, and with the planned autocross and track day possibility it is a sure-thing in my book.

Lots of cheap South Lake rooms nearby in CA for those not in the high rises in NV...I like The Block with its snowboarding theme and free beer at check-in.

Rob - what's new with the 914? I haven't seen or heard of any new adventures. I am back at the races, getting familiar with race tires this year in my 1.7. GGR Alameda events are awesome this year, new timing system, lots of runs, excellent surface, competition and course design. See you soon I hope (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Linda & I are in. It will be the first 914 event I've managed to get her to - of course we'll be driving the Eurovan with the teener in tow so that makes a huge difference! Too bad it's in the same time frame that the RRC usually is scheduled, but I guess that will work out somehow.

We all tend to plan things in a vacuum. We try to think about everything and consider all the possibilities. RRC being in the same time frame did not come up... We certainly meant no disrespect to a fine event. I have wanted very much to go to it. It sounds like we are getting a few RRC guys to come to us... I promise, I will return the favor and come to RRC as soon as I can... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grouphug.gif)

Come to Tahoe. One of the most naturally beautiful places I have ever seen... I am looking into the possibility of a guided fishing excursion if anyone wants to drop a line and try their luck...

Speaking of natural beauty, other wildlife at Tahoe include the rare but beautiful asian pinkeared bunny. The male of the species are not so attractive though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) These two were caught and released by our own Birthday Fairy!

This sounds really great! Thanks to all those organizing this event!

I still can't believe I missed the 2009 WCR, as it was about three miles from my house. But a conflicting trip to Kansas kept me away.

I will see you all in Tahoe!

We are going to PARTY!!!

For you dual carb guys (you single carb guys don't have running cars anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ) Original Customs may be setting up a tuning station to rejet your carbs for the altitude. I am not saying this will be a free service. Mark will decide what he charges but don't stay home because of altitude...

Let's hope Jon shows up and brings the reason we all put up with him...

Ummmm.... yeh Jon. I meant your 914. Sure, that's it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

Only a year and a month until WCR 2010! Let's hear your ideas on what to do? Anyone want to golf? Chartered fishing on Lake Tahoe?

I'd love to help organize a day drive for those that are interested. I know of a number of really awesome scenic roads and passes up there.

Trip idea 1 - Virginia City via Mt. Rose - Just 2 hours and 40 min of driving, so that leaves plenty of time to wander around Virginia City.

Here's Sylvie from our trip up there a few years back:
(IMG:http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1308/970048166_d2b6d7bcd3.jpg)

Trip idea 2 - Lake Loop - Under 2 hours assuming no traffic (yeah, right!), I'd guess around 3 hours with traffic. This is a super scenic drive around the entire lake. We could stop at a number of vista points and perhaps find a place to dip into the lake for those that are interested. The west side of the lake is really interesting and the road is a lot of fun. You also get a great view of Emerald Bay.

Those are probably the best short runs I can think of off hand. There are other, longer drives, but I don't think there's time for those.

I may be down for fishing, especially if we get to keep and cook some of the big boys. More info?

If it's fly fishing you want, you won't need a guide. I'm familiar with the Tahoe area, and its' fishing environs....glad to take a few of us fishin' but I don't "drag bait" for trout.

I've done the Virginia city drive in a fiero I once had. Lots of fun! The lake drive is fun as well but traffic can get crazy.

Sounds like fun and only about 3 hours away! Track time would be way cool! However, too far out and too close to other family events to commit now - its on my calendar!
