West Coast Ramble 2010 at Lake Tahoe is coming together and we wanted to share the tentative dates and some of our ideas we have had...

September 17, 18, and 19 at the Horizon Casino Resort on the South Side of the lake.

There will be two other major car events going on at the same time in the same hotel.

PCA Sacramento Valley Region and Sierra Nevada Region will hold a multi day event and we will be invited to attend their autocross in the Horizon Parking Lot probably both Saturday and Sunday for you hardcore cone murderers.

Cool September Days, a kind of lower key event like Hot August Nights will be at the hotel as well. We are invited to see their mainly street rods and American Classics and enjoy some of the parking lot events they will have going on. Like a band...

There is a golf course right across the street called the Edgewater at Tahoe which may be an alternative activity for you golfers.

I am talking with Trackmasters to see if they are interested in doing a track day event at Reno-Fernley on that weekend...

There are so many other things to do at Tahoe you should make sure you are one of the 914World Citizens at this event...

Not gonna happen....going to Red Rocks Classic. September has been the dates for RRC for the last 5 years....not going to break that.

I think Thursday night will be really cheap and Friday, Saturday more like reasonable. When we announce that reservations are open we will give a reserve by date. As long as you register by that date you will get the negotiated rate. Here is something to think about though... There are several cheap places to stay that you could negotiate on your own within blocks of the Horizon. I know you are looking for numbers and I have heard numbers but I don't want expectations to be out of synch with the reality.

I would encourage people to bring their spouse and stay all week. The rates during the week are very cheap. So much to do up there.

Lots of cheap South Lake rooms nearby in CA for those not in the high rises in NV...I like The Block with its snowboarding theme and free beer at check-in.

Rob - what's new with the 914? I haven't seen or heard of any new adventures. I am back at the races, getting familiar with race tires this year in my 1.7. GGR Alameda events are awesome this year, new timing system, lots of runs, excellent surface, competition and course design. See you soon I hope

You laugh. 80% of my 914 is in Rubbermaid containers.

Linda & I are in. It will be the first 914 event I've managed to get her to - of course we'll be driving the Eurovan with the teener in tow so that makes a huge difference! Too bad it's in the same time frame that the RRC usually is scheduled, but I guess that will work out somehow.

We all tend to plan things in a vacuum. We try to think about everything and consider all the possibilities. RRC being in the same time frame did not come up... We certainly meant no disrespect to a fine event. I have wanted very much to go to it. It sounds like we are getting a few RRC guys to come to us... I promise, I will return the favor and come to RRC as soon as I can...

Come to Tahoe. One of the most naturally beautiful places I have ever seen... I am looking into the possibility of a guided fishing excursion if anyone wants to drop a line and try their luck...

Speaking of natural beauty, other wildlife at Tahoe include the rare but beautiful asian pinkeared bunny. The male of the species are not so attractive though These two were caught and released by our own Birthday Fairy!
