Looking in Craigs List, for SF Bay area, there's a few 914 transmissions for sale from $150 and up. There always seems to be at least a couple available, always for really cheap.

We have about a month and a half to go until the planned December Dr. Evil Transmission Rebuild Clinic at Original Customs in Sonoma California. In the next week or two the dates will get solidified as Dr. Evil gets his residency interviews set. Bring your wife and make a weekend of it... You will be working hard for 12 hours a day both Saturday and Sunday so the wives can go raid Napa and Sonoma on their own. This should be a fun and productive weekend... So, I got an email from one of the programs for emergency medicine saying that they (all EM programs) are not supposed to send out invites to interview until after the Dean's letters have been posted on Nov 1 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I guess the Family Med folks dont need to follow the same rules as I have 5-6 interviews this month alone. As such, I will be busy with interviews (maybe) after the 1st of Nov, but I have time for this clinic.
As such, Dec 5-6, right? I'm in. For payment details PM me. I need to read through this thread again to see if any specific info is provided. If not I will make a concise post with all the info after I return from a day out with Noel (its our 1 yr anniversary today). |

OK, here is the deal.
$300 per builder for as many boxes as you can build in 2 full days (usually 2). Spectators are free and welcome. Spectators seem to learn a lot and ask very good questions. Typically, buy the end of day one the spectators are helping the builders with resolving their mistakes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Date is the 5-6 of Dec. I will supply special tools, the rest bring normal tools with you. I will also pay for: brake cleaner/carb cleaner, nail brushes, aluminum basins and sheets to clean and build on, gloves, rags, methane, attitude, vulgar language. If you want to prepay for used parts (because my supplies are limited) PM me and we can talk. If you have core transaxles to part, bring them and make some $$. We tend to do a lot of free swapping at the event, though. If you want to buy new parts let me know and I will see what prices I can get you. Sooner is better than later so I can ship them rather than try to pack them in my suit case (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I am not sure when I will close registration, if at all. The thing you lose by registering late is supplies and parts so be forewarned. Please register early!!! Thats all for now. I think the rest of the questions are answered in the thread here.
