Wow. Did you keep all the parts together? I know someone who needs an S gear set from one of the 5 speeds.

we did keep all the parts in separate buckets / sections, though at some point, we will have to go through and get the best parts to build with.

Some parts need to stay with the box or critical measurements will be off. Shafts, diffs, shims.

yes, everything is in labeled boxes, we even kept the gaskets together with the boxes so we could measure them to get the right thickness ones when we put them back together.

It's probably been mentioned somewhere else in this thread, but other than tools I know we're going to need a gasket set and the various seals (main shaft, output shafts, speedo drive). Is PP the best place to pick these up or can a better deal be had elsewhere?

Just joined here (finally). I am very interested in attending or participating in the NorCal workshop, but would like to know how/where I can get an H Set to install, as my 914 has a V8. Whether I participate, or only attend, may depend on whether or not I can get the gear set in time. Are they available through some retailer like PP, or only used, like the Classifieds here?

The quick way would be Parts Heaven or EASY in the Bay area. You might also try High Performance House in the Bay. Rich Bontempi has at least 40 of everything I think. You might also try IPB Autosport in the Sacramento area. Ron has things like this he just has to go look...

Randy, if you can't get a transmission gasket set, I can get them overnight with no shipping. The pricing is about the same as Pelican.

Either get them from me or GPR. GPR is a good shop and could use some support (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

All of the seals come in the kit. I have a few that I bought. $40 delivered in person.

I can probably get you one. There are guys bringing 4 speed 912 boxes that should have them as well. Read this thread and see who and contact them to see if they want to sell. for retailers, Carquip generally stocks them and they tend to be reasonable.

I see that Mark can get them as well. It would be best to get them from him if I havent already gotten one for you. I have 7 on the way and will need 3-4 of those. I dont know if I could get more on such a short notice. Mark probably can. Let me know if he cant and I will pull some strings.

I understand that there is a lot of traffic in this thread so some stuff may get lost. I have been asked a few times today alone about seal kits.

Seal kits are NOT included with tuition. Please plan accordingly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif)

I, too, have an HB gear set for sale. Only one tooth different from the H.

The seal kits are $1.71 more than I have them, and worth it.

The Synchro of which you speak, bands or teeth? Bands I get for $85. Used teeth for $50.
