How about cramming this into a teener! I think that would be an interesting project.

Maserati on eBay

Do you think this would fit?

while it sounds like a neat motor to swap in, you better have some connections since I bet that is one damn expensive engine for parts...if you can find them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

Thats a an extremely fun car to drive. Silky smooth tranny and gobs of power when the turbo kicks in.
Handles extremely well too, the 2 door model anyway.

I dont have the slightest clue about Maserati's but that engine looks identical to the GM V6 that was used for years in the Grand Prix's and such.

Don't know what year that motor is, but I seem to remember those little, twice-turbo'd cars got mileage similar to a motorhome!

and adjusting the valves is a 3 day job.

It is like having a Ferrari with all the expense and none of the status or resale.

When new, they were fast and fun cars.

But now the general concensus is that the Biturbo was one of the biggest semi-exotic POS ever unleashed in the States.

True story -- we had some close family friends (serious DINKS). At one point in the mid-80's "he" had a sweet early 70's Alfa Romeo GT and "she" had a Maserati Biturbo. Both cars were in the shop about as often as on the road.

Finally they got fed up with all the Italian car BS and "he" got a 944 and "she" got a BMW 635i...they were MUCH happier after that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I was really close to dropping some coin for a Maserati Merak SS a few years ago... then I thought about getting parts for the car... so I passed..

The only way to make a Porsche more expensive! Add Maserati bits!

If you want a cheaper source for a maserati V6, look for a Citroen SM.

Oh one last comment here. If you can't turbo a 914.... you certainly can't bi-turbo a 914! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

PARTS

Walked past a Bi Turbo at Pick A Part a couple years ago and saw nice taillight lenses. Pulled them, paid something like $15 each for them and sold them on the BiTurbo board for $250... Yep, Part, good used markup parts! Range Rovers are great that way too... tried to sell mine for $4500, couldn't, cut it up, and got close to ten grand for it...
