In this picture because of the shadows your car looks like it has 2-tone paint with the rockers and valances painted a different tone of tan/yellow. It looks very cool and I am thinking that may look on my 6 with flares.

Just another option on my second car. I made these myself. Old picture before the car was lowered and aligned.
Hours of research went into making the 914 so unless you are a pimp with fuzzy dice, the stock black, stock chrome, and optional decal is safe.
Go with black and add the stripes (if they are black) above the rocker. Sort of a bazarro world version of a Bumblebee.
I'm partial to body colored rockers...
