Ok, now lets get fancy (I do what Mark and jt914 said), but how do you turn the link into a word in the text which serves as a link. Example: people who know more than I about computers tell me to go "here" and when I click on here it is the link.
Someone tell me how to do that please.
If you preface anything with http:// in a forum reply it will automatically be a link regardless whether it's valid or not.
For example:
If you just type in www.914world.com, it's not a link as you can see. Even though it is a valid link as is. If you were to copy and paste that into a browser it would take you to the web site. If I type 914world.com it doesn't appear as a link either despite the fact that it is also a legitimate web address. But if I type
http://914world.com , it's automatically added as a link in the forum post. Notice I didn't even include the www in that link. Simple yeah?
BTW, if you do it this way it will appear as a link in your reply regardless whether you use, "Fast Reply" or not.
Also, if you go in and edit your reply afterwards, you will see that the forum software automatically converted your text into the following form (using my example above):
CODE
[url=http://914world.com]http://914world.com[/url]
