Maybe he offers free CNC head porting with those battery ground cables Free headers I have been searching for an extra 16 BHP for quite some time and I can't believe it was hiding this whole damn time in my stock battery cables???

Looks like a pretty decent cable, but why do they have to make wildly optimistic claims about HP? I can't imagine that anyone who owns these old cars would fall for it... either they work on their own car and can see through BS like this, or they have a trusted wrench who will tell them that these claims are bogus.

I wonder if the concept is your old ground cable is going bad and you could be losing hp? Either way, I could make my own ground with marine grade cable for less than $40

There is some benefit to having clean grounds from engine to chassis.
However Flat copper braid that is hot tin dipped from each cylinder head to chassis is the right way to do it.

The ground strap to the chassis and transaxle is OK but not electically great.

Two of these a k&n filter and some Zmax and you can double the horsepower in a stock 1.7.

Oh, I thought he was talking about starter motor HP gain vs. no ground at all.

I can see some HP gain...with weak connections the alternator certainly will produce a larger load....not sure if it would be as much as claimed...but that is the beauty of advertising...prove him wrong.

I know it's an old racer's trick to open the alternator field wire during qualifying or other "all out" effort - but I don't think anybody ever claimed 16HP from _completely_ eliminating alternator load. _1_ HP is ~750W.

You got a 1000A alternator? I don't...
