I don't think the eBay parts girl is right for this job.
I like the idea of members cars and friends much better for a calender.

I'd pony up for the Calenders. I'd want 2 of the xrated, for my house and my GF's house.

I agree though, no go on the Ebay man-girl. I think we could easily find enough local amature talent to do the honors.

This could be a really cool thing to do. But money constraints will limit you to one choice. A porno 914 calendar may not do as well as you hope. I think a tastefull 914 with girls would do the trick quite nicely. I bet we could even get some of the 914 parts sellers to put it in the catalogs if we did it right.

I have boys with car calendars on their walls. They would be totally grossed out if they thought their Mom was in one , and pictures get posted everywhere these days. You seriously don't want me.

I would however be interested in a nekid guy posing with a 914 calendar, he could be working on it with tools and greasy hands, sweat beading on his chest.....OH, if not I'll just take the plain car calendar.

the more i think of it, the more i think there would be value to a 914 calender with members cars, babes or not. to be able to point to the car o' the month, and say to yourself, "maybe someday i will have a killer 327 V8 in my teener, just like Craig," or something like that, would be the coolest.

Did anyone look at what this would cost to do?

I don't know what volume we are looking at so I looked at pricing for 1000 copies.

I looked at 8-1/2" X 11" format (size per picture at top of each month).
(11"w X 17" tall when hanging on wall)

A 32 page calendar (full color) would allow for a cover (front & back) and 15 months. These would be printed on high quality 80# paper.

We would need at least 15 high res pictures (one could be reused for the cover) and any information desired on the outsides of the cover (front and back).

The cost for 1000 units is less than $3,000 or just about $3 each. I am not sure how low of a run we could get done, but perhaps not much less than 1000. included in the price is some design work and approvals. The higher the volume, the less per unit cost (for example, 5000 units would cost about $1 each).

Depending on the interest of the group and more specifically (the quantity of interested parties) this seems to be a very do-able thing especially if some of the distributors of parts wanted to subsidize the rest of the group and obtain calendars to give-away as advertisements or sell themselves.

At least this is a ballpark at what this little venture would cost.

100 seems to be the magic number with stuff sold here.

We could sell advertising on each month page to subsidize the cost. I doubt we could get only 100 printed in any high quality format. If we got it subsidized we could almost give them away.
