Hey guys I'm having a little trouble with my weber44's. My passenger side carb seems to have the float or something sticking. After running for a while it stops getting fuel. My fuel lines are all new to both & I checked them for plugs. I'm definately not the best mechanic. I'm wondering if there is a good rebuild kit for them 44's. I can follow directions pretty well & think I could probably handle the carbs. Or at least do my usual of doing it myself & then paying my wrench to fix my work! Any thoughts & experiences appreciated! biggrin.gif

Jamie You have said it all. Take it to your wrench.

Really I expected a much more sarcastic remark from you Craig. Something like thats what you get for switching to carbs from the FI. Then something like a you dumbass remark! biggrin.gif
I figure on taking it to my wrench next week. It was nice to cruise around in it today though! Top down & happy me! We need to have a get together soon. Any autox coming at PIR soon?

Tap on the carb with the wooden end of a hammer. The float may be sticking. You can easily pull the top off of the carb in question. Remove the air cleaner/remove the velocity stacks/then start unscrewing all the screws for the carb top itself. The carb top lifts out of the body of the carb and the floats stay with it (unless I'm mixing it up with Dell carbs) << I know the float stays with those. You can then "work" the float by hand and even have somebody turn the pump on for you while you hold the floats in the closed position. Slowly open them and watch for fuel. Do this over a container of some sort to catch the fuel.

You dont need a rebuild kit to figure this out.

Jamie, I am with Brad on this. Your problem does not require a rebuild. Just need to figure out why it is not delivering/getting fuel on that side. I have a couple of Weber manuals which I will loan you if you can stop in to get them.

YOU Rock. Nice collection. I always loved the Safari window buses. I think my dad owned a 61 VW pickup way back.

The Chris Craft is all wood correct ?

Who is this guy Demillo ? Is he the guy who makes the full circle "Demillo" cranks ?? I think we have his name spelled incorrectly.
