So after I decided to fit 964 seats in my 914 it became apparent the handbrake would no longer function in its original location.

I decided to see if a 964 hand brake and console would fit in my car, so i bought a used one and started the engineering process. The console is a bit too long for a 914 IF you want to center the shifter in the 964 console. I ended up peeling back the vinyl and performing minor surgery to the front and back.

And here is the tentative fitment with the shifter centered in the remaining portion of the console.





Now to get the vinyl trimmed and re-glued to see how it looks. I will also need to address the 964 cable issue and see if they can be adapted to the 914.
