A short time ago the admins locked a thread and deleted a graphic personal attack, rightly so. I read the uncensored remark before the lock and felt it was way out of bounds and warrants some action against the poster.

This place has a great balance between good-natured banter, honest disagreement and generous, helpful assistance. That makes instances of outright "F***YOU A**WIPE!!!" extremely rare. When it does happen it demonstrates a complete lack of respect for the other members of this site and the minimal rules that are in place to maintain peace. I hope some remedial action will be taken to rein in the out of control outburst.

I replied to a post, no attack on anyone, gave a thought full reply to a moral dilema question, I was shot down with accusation that i didn't read the post.
tallk about rude, I reply that just cause I had a certain perspective i shouldn't be accused of not reading the post, just cause I have a different view.

then the poster goes into name calling and adds the sulting icon of "kiss my ass" along with comments on spelling and "getting help" and being bitter....
all meant as an insult.

all i did initially was reply to a post that I did read, by adding perspective on the social responsibility issue. Guess that didn't set well with the original poster, so he started in with the insulting line about not reading his post.

now we got this post calling for blood from me, but never mind the insults that were directed towards me, "kiss my ass' icon is not over the line, but the big bird middle finger quote is???

Maybe the concept of civility is a little too nuanced for you. I think there is a reason why only the last blatant statement was censored. The various emoticons are there for a reason; to try and keep the discussion from descending into the screaming (all caps), unvarnished attack I read. It lacked any level of impulse control and certainly didn't add to the discussion. JMHO

but it's very easy to do if you don't know some one and if you have a propensity to play the devils advocate that can make things more inflamatory.

rich is kind of an ass but he's an honest, ethical and good natured ass. he's the kind of ass that would help you out in any way that he could.

Ok, I read the post now and have to give my .02. I really don't think real's first response was out of line at all, and he did make some valid points. Some may remember Real's and mine debates in the past, up to probably getting him suspended for a short time, not to long ago. That was not my intention then, and I disagree with probably 80% of what he does here still, but I have to stick up for his first response now. It seemed to me people are kind of ganging up on him from past comments, and I think from reading some of his latest posts, he is trying to clean up the political comments. Just IMHO

Now as far as the edited post, I have no idea what was said, so I won't comment on that.
