Hi guys,

Getting ready to send my gauges to North Hollywood to be cleaned up. My car started out as a '71 914/4, but will be a steel flared fender car with a '93 964 motor and a 915 gearbox.

Here's what I'm thinking for gauges;

1. Combo gauge with oil pressure on top and fuel level on bottom. This will also have warning lights for: engine warning, , alternator light and idiot light

2. 8K tach

3. 180 mph speedo

I'm also getting the 914AP center console with the standard 3 gauges: clock, oil temp and volt meter.

So I know that on the combo gauge some folks put 3 or even 4 gauges. Anyone have any comments or suggestions before I take the plunge and send my gauges in?

Thanks for your advice.

If you're using the engine management system from the 964, you'll need the tach that goes with it.

I run a older 911 tach, i forget which year. Somewhere in the late '70 to mid '80 range. I don't recall if i needed an adapter to run in with the DME ...

I also run a stock 993 combi instrument for the oil temp and pressure and various other things, including the check engine light.

And i run a 944 speedo.

I would consider a shift light, too. I bought one from this place and I really like it. http://www.caraddiction.co.uk/sld5.htm
