I am looking for two cover plates for 40MM IDF carbs.
Simple flat aluminum, 1/2 inch thick, with two holes that will accept IDA (not IDF) velocity stacks.

So, its needs to be the right shape for the IDF.
It would need two holes for the velocity stacks.
It would need a funky hole for the emulsion tubes
I would like to have the outer edge camfered at a 45 degree angle so the horizontal face is 50% of the total thickness.

I need two for dual carbs.

Jeff Hines made some years ago and they were beautiful!

I have my mll, but not sure if it is big enough for your plates.

What size are they? If you get some made, I could CNC a porsche emblem into them for you.

I used these ones and loved them. Can't recall now how the lower plate looked inside... idea.gif

Easier to mark them, center punch the holes and bore them in a four jaw chuck in a lathe. (for the holes anyway)

You could go the homeowner route and use a hole saw. If you use some cutting fluid or even kerosene or WD40 you can hole saw 1/2" aluminum.

CB Performance has some nice covers for throttle bodies and carburetors as well.

Check out this website: http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=557

Prices are a lot cheaper than buying 1/2 thick aluminum. A lot cheaper.

Also check out the K&N website where I got mine as shown in the picture.

Jeff,
I was thinking you could take one of the triples, cut out some of the middle, weld the 2 halves together and grind off the bead confused24.gif

I have a small CNC Mill at home. What's the length and width?

4 inches by 6 inches roughly...
might be more like 3 inches...I need to measure.
