I'm doing rear bearings and one hub with a stripped lug hole. If I remove the shock from the control arm will the arm drop down a few inchs? I need to remove the left drive shaft and even with the starter out I still need a few more inchs to clear.

I've found it easier to remove the trailing arm from the car to work on the hub.
