I have purchased a bunch of parts from someone local. In the deal was a transmission. I was told it was from a 914, but it doesn't look like any 914 transmission I have ever seen. The mount ears aren't cast in like I am used to seeing. It is a tailshifter, that much I do know.
The cast in numbers are as follows.
901.301.101.0R
on top...
and on the bottom
90270 and 3080004
I can't find much on it. Can you tell me what the numbers are, and what this trans came from?
Thanks.

Are you sure the bottom is 90270? Usually those numbers are 902/0X, where X is some other number like 902/02.

I can post pictures, but it's definately 902/0. There is nothing else there.

That's a type 902/02 aluminum 4 speed from a 911 or 912, or at least it was when it was new. A lot of these parts interchange. I usually build 911 race boxes out of 914 housings because 914s don't have enough horsepower to hurt it.

Here is the trans picture of that number.

Looks like it's an early 911 4 speed box...
Any idea what it's worth?

If it was a 901 it would be worth a bundle, but it isn't. Check ebay.

Thanks everyone. I don't need it so it's time to see if it shifts and start cleaning it up to sell.
