I have been working on the longs for a while now and I have wondered what these are. There were two on each side and they look originalish except that they are screwed into the bottom of the long. Any ideas? Click to view attachment

spray some rust-off or PB blaster up thru the drain hole. let it soak for a day before trying to remove that screw. smack it flat on teh screw face with a hammer a fw times

I guess the fiberglass replacements don't use it?(at least mine didn't)
I should have asked earlier as I twisted off the first one last fall

Don't get discouraged.
I just recently checked out a roller that had double-sided tape holding theirs on. It looked like dirty white silicone sealer. I suspect the southern heat, rust and high temps over time blended into the gunk I found.
