Is it common for there to be a lot of rust at the front jack stand donut(or whatever its called) on the drivers side? I did some rust raiding today and found that it is almost completly rusted through.
What is the best way of repairing this?
I'll post some pictures as soon as I can

Yep, the donuts rust easily, cause they are basically open cavities that will fill with crap and trap moisture
Also by using them, the paint gets damaged, so that's a win-win situation (for rust)
Best way to fix them is to grind off all the rusted metal and weld in new pieces
Dunno if these are available, so you may have to fab new donuts...
cheers,
